At this workshop, we will review the guidelines and deadlines necessary for graduation this semester. Topics will include applying to graduate, scheduling your defense, submitting your dissertation or treatise to the Texas Digital Library, requesting an embargo, IRB requirements, and reviewing what paperwork you must submit to the Graduate School. There will be time for Q & A.
At this workshop, we will discuss a wide variety of OGS student policies, including (but not limited to) new policies, attendance at defenses, requests for final oral, rules on committees, programs of work, end of semester processes, and in absentia. There will be time for questions.
The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition that challenges master's and doctoral students to describe their research within three minutes to a general audience.

Any academic and professional space is intimidating for most first-gen students and professionals. Usually it's because we don't know what we don't know. Demystifying the graduate experience is an active practice of self-advocacy. Come learn about effective strategies in proactive learning and resource building. Grad School doesn't have a how-to book but you can be empowered to make your experience less stressful and more aligned with your values and priorities.
Join us for an hour long discussion on the topic of building mutually beneficial relationships with professional across a broad range of careers and fields.
