Key dates for graduate students are listed below. Defer to the Academic Calendar and Course Schedule produced by the Office of the Registrar for official registration and payment deadline information.

First Session– June 5-July 10

June 5 - 6Web Add/Drops, $25 Late Registration Fee.
June 6 - 10Departmental Add/Drops, $50 Late Registration Fee.
June 10Last day to add a class or drop with a refund. Add bills due by 5 p.m.
June 11 - 18 Automatic Q-drop; no refund or academic penalty.
June 26Last day to change grade status to or from CR/NC.
July 10Last class day. Last day to drop first session courses.
August 15Last day to withdraw.

Nine-Week Session – June 5 - July 29

July 17Last day to add a class or drop with a refund. Add bills due by 5 p.m.
July 18 - 25 Automatic Q-drop; no refund or academic penalty.
August 1Last day to change grade status in second-session course.
August 15Last class day. Last day to withdraw or drop second session courses.

 Fall 2025

April 7 - April 18Registration for continuing and readmitted students.
June 4 - July 23Registration for new, continuing and readmitted students.
July 29Fee bills electronically distributed. Students notified by email.
August 20 - 24Registration for all students who have not yet registered.  
Beginning Aug. 22, $25 late fee in effect for all students not registered.  
Payment due 5 p.m., Aug. 28  
Add/drop for students who have registered and paid. Add bills due on Aug. 28 by 5 p.m.
August 22Deadline for graduate students to be registered in absentia in the fall.
August 25First class day.
August 25 -  28Late registration for all students. $25 late fee in effect.  
(Note: Late fee increases to $50 on Aug. 29 and $200 on Sept. 11)  
Add/drops for registered and paid students. Add bills due on Sept. 10 by 5 p.m.
August 25 - Sept. 10 
(First 12 class days)
Delete drop period.  
Classes added, dropped and grade status changed online from Aug. 25 - Aug. 28.
Classes added, dropped and grade status changed in the department offering the course from Aug. 29 - Sept. 10.
August 28Tuition and fee payment due by 5 p.m. Students with zero bills must confirm their registration via the Web to prevent cancellation.
Sept. 10The Twelfth Class Day. Last day to add/drop a course with a refund,  
Payment for added classes due by 5 p.m.
Sept. 11 - 22Q drop period. Courses may be dropped without academic penalty.  
Approval of the Graduate Adviser and Graduate Dean required.
Sept. 23 - Dec. 8Q/F drop period. Dropping a course requires the approval of the instructor, who must assign a "Q" or "F," the Graduate Adviser and the Graduate Dean.
Nov. 14Last day to apply for a graduate degree.  
Last day for new doctoral candidates to change registration to dissertation.
Nov. 21Last day a doctoral candidate may hold a dissertation defense for fall 2025.
Nov. 24Last day to change grade status to or from the credit/ no credit basis.
Dec. 5Last day to submit final paperwork to the Graduate School for graduation.
Dec. 8Last class day. This is the last day to drop a class or withdraw from the fall semester.
